		WELCOME TO ENSEMBLE PARALLÈLE
		ABOUT US Ensemble Parallèle is a professional music organization devoted to multidisciplinary projects and chamber opera. It is a resident ensemble at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Over the years, the Ensemble has collaborated with dancers, choreographers, multimedia artists, reaching out to other art forms to work with them, as the Ensemble’s name suggests — in parallel.
		TEAM PARALLÈLE Under the direction of founder and artistic director Nicole Paiement, Ensemble Parallèle's team of artists has been a driving force in bringing the multidisciplinary art approach to new music. In addition, the artistic team is committed to bringing new music to new audiences.
		COLLABORATIONS Ensemble Parallèle fosters collaborations and performances with other art forms throughout the year.
		COMPENDIUM OF WORKS Ensemble Parallèle has a rich history of ground breaking works. The Ensemble is committed to bridging the gap between the 20th century and the music of today by being involved in a wide variety of projects.
		A WORK IN PROGRESS: THE WOZZECK PROJECT In February 2010, Ensemble Parallèle presents the California premiere of Alban Berg's opera Wozzeck in the eloquent reorchestration for 21 musicians by Montréal composer John Rea. (1995)
		MUSIC: AUDIO Listen to recordings of Ensemble Parallèle. Since its formation, the Ensemble has presented many world and American premieres and has commissioned composers from around the world. Under Paiement's baton, they have completed over 10 world premiere recordings.
		OPERA: VIDEO See Ensemble Parallèle's world premiere of Lou Harrison's opera Young Caesar. Contemporary chamber opera is one of Ensemble Parallèle's main artistic vehicles.
